While Relevo's system is designed for Relevo Users to handle scanning, allowing faster point-of-sale operations and minimal employee training, there are scenarios where customers (businesses) may prefer to take control of the scanning process. This flexibility provides tighter oversight of borrowing and returning items.

Assigning Items

If a customer opts to manage the borrowing process, employees can assign Relevo items to Relevo Users. This involves two steps:

  1. Scanning the Relevo User ID:

    1. Each Relevo User has a unique QR Code available on their app's home screen.

  2. Scanning Individual Items:

    1. Employees scan the QR code stickers on the items being assigned to the Relevo User.

Once completed, the Relevo User receives a notification confirming the assignment, along with details about the location.

Should a customer want to have more control over the borrowing and return process of Relevos, he can simply take over the scanning process and assign items to Relevo Users. Both parts, borrowing and returning of items can be taken over by the customer separately. We focus on assigning items first, since this is trickier than scanning items during return.

Placeholder Items

To streamline operations at busy points-of-sale, Relevo offers a placeholder system:

  • How It Works:

    • Employees scan only the Relevo User's ID and select the number and type of items being assigned.

    • The user receives placeholders in their account instead of specific item IDs.

  • Replacing Placeholders:

    • Relevo Users must scan QR codes on their received items to replace placeholders with actual item IDs.

    • If placeholders are not replaced within 14 days, they expire, and a fee is charged to the user.

  • Benefits: Speeds up transactions while maintaining individual item tracking integrity.

Returning Items

Customers can also optionally manage item returns themselves. This process is independent of item assignment but complements it if employees handle both steps:

  1. Employees collect/receive used Relevo items from Relevo Users.

  2. They scan the QR codes on the items using Relevo's Partner Platform.

  3. The system unassigns the items from the user and books them back into the location's inventory.

Requirements

To shift scanning responsibilities from Relevo Users to employees, businesses need:

  • A device with QR code reading capabilities (smartphones, tablets, or dedicated scanners).

  • Access to the Relevo Partner Platform, which requires an internet connection.

    • Employee access can be restricted to prevent unauthorized changes in business-critical areas.

For setup guidance or device recommendations, contact your Relevo customer success manager.
