At some partner locations, strict security policies prevent employees from carrying phones, while at others, guests may prefer not to use smartphones due to privacy concerns or lack of technical proficiency. To address these scenarios, Relevo offers the Reuse Card, a simple and effective solution that works seamlessly without requiring a mobile app or any personal information.

Acquiring Reuse Cards

The Relevo Reuse Card is a durable, FSC-certified wooden card printed with a unique QR code representing a Relevo User ID. These cards contain no personal data and can be requested in batches by partners. Once received, they can be sold to guests for a customizable price (typically €10). The card allows users to borrow up to two Relevo items simultaneously. Borrowing parameters, such as the purchase price or borrowing limits, can be tailored to the partner's needs before ordering.

To activate the card, partners use the Relevo Partner Platform to scan the QR code on the card and assign items by scanning their respective QR codes. This process ensures that guests can begin borrowing immediately upon receiving their card.

Assigning Items

When issuing a Reuse Card to a guest, follow these steps to assign items:

  1. Charge the Guest for the Card:

    • Typically, partners charge €10 (or a customized amount) for the card.

  2. Activate the Card:

    • Use the Relevo Partner Platform to scan the QR code on the Reuse Card.

    • Alternatively, you can manually enter the Relevo User ID printed on the card.

  3. Assign Items to the Card:

    • Scan the QR codes of the items being borrowed using the Partner Platform.

    • The scanned items are now linked to the guest’s Reuse Card.

Once these steps are completed, the guest can borrow up to 2 items (or a custom limit) and use them for up to 14 days. All details about the borrowing and return process is also printed on the back side of the card.

Returning Items

To process item returns and free up space on the Reuse Card, follow these steps:

  1. Scan Borrowed Item QR Codes:

    • Use the Relevo Partner Platform to scan each item being returned.

  2. Free Up Space on the Card:

    • Once scanned, the items are removed from the guest’s borrowing record, allowing new items to be borrowed.

Here are some important notes when handling item returns of Reuse Cards:

  • If items are returned damaged, moldy, or after the 14-day borrowing period (or custom borrowing period), the Reuse Card will be automatically voided.

  • A voided card cannot be used for further borrowing, ensuring accountability and proper item handling.

To offer Reuse Cards at your location, you’ll need:

  • A QR code scanning device (e.g., smartphone, tablet, or dedicated scanner).
