Borrowing Items
For simplicity, this section describes the most commonly used and basic borrowing process. However, all parameters in the system, such as borrowing duration, can be customized to fit individual needs.
Relevo's system assigns a unique identifier to every reusable item (called Relevo). When a Relevo User borrows an item, it is linked to their Relevo User ID, enabling tracking throughout its lifecycle. Relevo Users must return borrowed items within 14 days to avoid a potential fee that covers replacing the item in the circular system. Below is a detailed breakdown of how the borrowing process works.
Relevo Apps
To make adoption seamless for businesses, Relevo minimizes the need for employee training or operational changes. Instead, the Relevo User handles most of the process. To facilitate this, Relevo offers:
On the fly: Apple App Clips and Instant Apps.
Web App: Accessible via any browser on the Web for users who prefer not to download an app.
Signing Up for Relevo
Guests who are not yet Relevo Users must sign up before borrowing items. The registration process is quick and user-friendly:
Requirements: Only a valid email address is needed to create an account.
SSO Integration: Users can also register using major Single Sign-On (SSO) providers such as Google, Facebook, or Apple.
Time to Register: The entire process takes less than 10 seconds, after which the account is ready for use.
Using the App Without Downloading
While downloading the app is recommended for the best experience, it is not mandatory:
Web App: Users can access the full Relevo experience directly from their browser.
App Clips & Instant Apps: These features allow users to interact with Relevo items immediately by scanning QR codes on black stickers—no downloads required.
For Relevo Users who later wish to upgrade to the full app, this transition is seamless and does not require re-login. The full app offers additional benefits like offline support, allowing users to interact with the system without an internet connection. Once online again, data automatically syncs.
Borrowing Process
The borrowing process is straightforward and user-driven:
Scanning Items:
The Relevo User scans the QR code on a Relevo item using their app.
The app checks the item's status and alerts the user if any issues arise.
Multiple items can be added to a virtual shopping basket.
Confirmation:
Once all desired items are scanned, the Relevo User confirms their selection and receives a borrowing receipt.
This receipt displays:
The number of items borrowed.
All individual items with names that were borrowed.
A timestamp of when the transaction occurred.
Employees on-site visually verify this confirmation screen to ensure all items were scanned correctly.
Completion:
After confirmation, the system links the scanned item IDs with the Relevo User ID.
Borrowed items appear as "Active Relevos" in the Relevo User's app, where they can track their borrowed items.
Usage Period:
Relevo Users have 14 days to return their items but can use them as often as they like during this period.
Extending Borrowing Duration
While most Relevo Users return items within 3 days on average, extensions are available:
Borrowing periods can be extended by another 7 days via the full Relevo App.
Requirements:
An active internet connection.
Valid payment details on file.
Cost: A fee of €1 per 7-day extension applies and can be used repeatedly if needed.
This fee encourages timely returns while compensating for missed reuse opportunities during extended borrowing periods.
