Relevo's platform is highly adaptable, making it an excellent fit for online food ordering and delivery systems. Through its APIs, Relevo supports user verification, placeholder assignments, and item tracking, enabling businesses to integrate reusable packaging seamlessly into their operations.

Assigning Items

In online scenarios, assigning reusable items to Relevo Users can be handled in two ways:

  1. Scanning Unique Items:

    1. Assign specific item IDs to orders once the food is prepared and ready for delivery.

    2. Ensure the user has a verified Relevo User ID before proceeding.

  2. Using Placeholder Items:

    1. Automate assignments by associating reusable item categories (e.g., burger boxes, salad bowls) with menu items.

    2. Placeholder items are replaced by actual item IDs when users scan QR codes on the delivered items.

Validating Relevo User ID

Relevo requires verification of the Relevo User's unique 6-character Relevo User ID for every order involving reusable items. This ensures:

  • Users are active and not blocked from the system.

  • Orders are linked to valid accounts.

How to Validate:

  • Send a simple HTTP request to the Relevo API with the Relevo User ID.

  • If only a comment field is available in your order form, send its content to the API for processing.

Individual Item Identifiers

If assigning items happens just before delivery, businesses can scan and assign specific item IDs to verified Relevo User IDs. This provides precise tracking and ensures users receive notifications about their assigned items.

Placeholder Items

For automation in online orders:

  • Set a set of Relevo item categories to each of your menu items.

  • Verify the Relevo User ID before checkout.

  • Let your system assign appropriate item placeholders to the verified Relevo User ID.

  • We will notify users that placeholders have been assigned to their account.

  • Relevo Users replace placeholders by scanning QR codes on the delivered items.

If placeholders are not replaced within 14 days, they expire, and Relevo Users incur a fee as if the items were lost. This approach allows businesses to automate processes while maintaining accountability.

Returning Items

While Relevo does not offer a standardized pickup service, businesses with their own delivery teams can collect used items during new deliveries. This encourages repeat orders at your shop within the 14-day borrowing window.

Alternatively, Relevo Users can return items at one of Relevo's 3,000 partner return points. The system ensures that only compatible item categories are accepted at each location, preventing mismatched returns (e.g., sushi boxes at a burger restaurant).
